Arrest after car stolen in burglary

A suspect has been arrested after a car was stolen from the driveway of its owner.

The BMW was taken from an address in Beech Avenue, Worksop, overnight on Wednesday 28 September.

Officers in Lincolnshire pulled over another suspected stolen car shortly on the A15 shortly after 12.30am this morning (Wednesday) and detained two suspects – one of whom was wanted in connection with the Worksop break-in.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary, going equipped for burglary, possessing a class B drug, and conspiring to commit burglary.

He remains in police custody.

Detective Inspector Paul Lefford, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was an upsetting crime for the victim, who was sleeping at the time of the break-in.

“We never underestimate the impact these offences have on people and work tirelessly to gather evidence and track down the people responsible.

“I am pleased we now have a suspect in custody for his offence and our investigation continues.”
