Teenager arrested following street robbery

A suspect has been arrested after a man had his trainers taken during a street robbery.

Officers were called to Lower Parliament Street, Nottingham city centre, following reports of the attack.

The victim’s shoes and bike were stolen, while he was also assaulted during the incident at around 11.20pm on Sunday (20 November).

Both items have since been recovered by police, who also arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of robbery.

Police are now appealing for anyone who saw what happened to come forward to assist their investigation.

Detective Sergeant Alana Scott, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a completely unacceptable incident that we shouldn’t be seeing anywhere within our communities.

“The force takes all reports of robberies we receive extremely seriously, as the arrest we’ve made in this case so far should evidence.

“We are still in the process of getting to the bottom of exactly what happened, so it’s important that anyone who can assist our inquiries does so by getting in touch with us immediately.

“Anyone who has any information about this incident should contact the police on 101, quoting incident 722 of 20 November 2022, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
