Teenager charged over stabbing

A teenager is due to appear in court after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in Nottingham city centre.

Officers were called to the incident, in Lower Parliament Street, at around 12.45pm on Friday 30 September 2022.

The victim was taken to hospital with chest and leg injuries which are not currently believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.

A 16-year-old boy, who can’t be identified for legal reasons, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife in a public place. He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 7 October 2022).

Detective Investigator Danny Johnstone, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “A team of detectives is continuing to work tirelessly on this case. Our investigation into what happened is very much ongoing and, to this end, we still want to speak to anybody who may have additional information about this incident.”
