Two drug gangs and leading suppliers who plagued Nottinghamshire’s streets with heroin and cocaine have been locked up for more than 150 years. More than a dozen drug dealers were directly involved in an illicit operation that saw the area flooded with more than ten kilos of Class A drugs from different parts of the UK.

A burglar caught running down a street carrying a safe he’d stolen has been locked up. Joshua Deverill was seen entering a flat in Ogle Street, Hucknall, at around 3pm on 8 November 2022. Twenty minutes later he emerged with a black safe in his hands.
A violent sexual predator who repeatedly raped a woman has been locked up for 12 years. Robert Taylor also threatened her at knifepoint and assaulted her, leaving her with severe injuries, during his attack at an address in Mansfield.
Police arrested two people after finding a number of weapons including a machete when they raided a property. Officers discovered the weapons in a bedroom at the shared accommodation in St Stephen’s Road, Sneinton, after executing a warrant at around 11am today (29 March).
Police have released a CCTV image of three men they want to trace after an unprovoked assault left a man in hospital. A violent offender who assaulted and threatened to kill a woman he met in the pub was arrested after punching and hitting another man with a baseball bat outside a hotel. Luke Hancock attacked the woman on 3 December 2022 - just days after meeting her.

The charity has today (Monday 27 March) launched a fuel theft campaign to raise awareness and encourage local people to report issues either to the police or stay completely anonymous and report to Crimestoppers especially in the Blyth and Harworth area.
A new scheme is set to be launched to improve the safety of women who feel harassed or receive unwanted attention in Nottingham’s gyms. Eleanor Smalley, a former PCSO and now Project Manager for the Newark and Sherwood Safer Streets initiative, became aware there was more that could be done to protect women after experiencing first-hand an uncomfortable situation in her own gym.
