Call to throw knives away as amnesty bins rolled out
Anyone wanting to safely throw a knife away can now do so all-year round without any questions being asked by dropping it in a police amnesty bin. Nottinghamshire Police has set up the permanent bins inside three different police stations as part of further efforts to help take knives off the streets.

A teenager is due to appear in court after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in Nottingham city centre. Officers were called to the incident, in Lower Parliament Street, at around 12.45pm on Friday 30 September 2022.

Around £90m of drugs have been incinerated this year – a record amount for Nottinghamshire Police. The Archive and Exhibits department - which test most of the drugs that are seized by the force - says “cannabis is still the number one recreational drug in Notts.”

Police swiftly arrested a burglary suspect after reports of an attempted break-in at a block of flats. Officers were called to Oakdale Road, Arnold, at around 8.45pm yesterday (5 October 2022) when a resident spotted three men in balaclavas outside his home in a car parking area.
Detectives charge teenager after supermarket stabbing
Detectives investigating a stabbing at a supermarket have charged a suspect. The 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Nottingham Youth Court yesterday (Wednesday 5 October 2022) charged with wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article.

A swift police response led to the arrest of a suspect after a man was reported to have waved a knife in the street. Officers were called to Broomhill Lane, Mansfield, shortly before 4pm on Wednesday (4 October 2022) after a man reportedly produced a knife while arguing with a woman through a window at her flat.

Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man after an attempted theft at a cash machine. While using a cash point in Waverley Street, the Arboretum, shortly after 1pm on 4 September, the victim was approached from the side by a suspect who attempted to snatch the withdrawn money.

Police investigating a robbery at a shop have released images of two men they are looking to speak with. After receiving multiple reports of the incident in Montpelier Road, Dunkirk, shortly after 6.20am, officers quickly attended and found a shop worker had been threatened by two men who ordered him to open the till.
