After being alerted to an ongoing incident in Grove Street, Retford, shortly before 7.30am, on Monday (22 May), response cops were quick to get to the scene and attempted to diffuse the situation.

A violent bully who beat and strangled his former partner has been jailed. Wesley Cain, aged 33, also threatened to kill the woman during a six-month campaign of intimidation. Cain, who also goes by the name of Wesley Blade, launched an attack on the victim on 25 May 2022 when he punched her to the head on multiple occasions before strangling her until she was unconscious.
Police are investigating after a man was found with a stab wound. The victim, aged 19, was attacked at around 9.45pm on Tuesday last week (9 May 2023). Officers were flagged down by members of the public after the victim ran into a convenience store in Hartley Road, Radford, moments after he was stabbed in the shoulder.
A sex attacker who was caught on CCTV assaulting a woman in a hotel corridor has been jailed. Stefanita Mosescu, aged 42, had been on a night out in Nottingham city centre before following the victim back to a hotel in Fletcher Gate in the early hours of 3 November last year.

Police are now calling on the public’s help to bring the person responsible to justice after releasing a CCTV image of a man who could help them with their inquiries.
