Suspect charged after knife seized from taxi
Police have charged a suspect after stopping a taxi and seizing a knife from inside. Officers from the city knife crime team were called to the Basford area after receiving intelligence relating to the vehicle. After spotting the car, the specialist team pulled it over at around 2.55pm on Thursday (25 May) and carried out a search at the roadside.
Officers scratched, punched, and bitten as suspect due in court after car stolen
Three officers were left with injuries on their arms and legs after attempting to arrest a suspect who had allegedly stolen a car and caused damage at a public house. After being alerted to an ongoing incident in Grove Street, Retford, shortly before 7.30am, on Monday (22 May), response cops were quick to get to the scene and attempted to diffuse the situation.
Thug jailed following robbery rampage
A violent thug who went on a rampage and robbed two people in the street has been jailed. John Shooter left a trail of destruction in his wake after attacking several people within the space of a few hours. One of his victims needed surgery to save his eyesight after he was assaulted by Shooter in Mansfield town centre.
Suspect charged over high-value burglary
A suspect has been charged and remanded in connection with a high-value house burglary. Rare ornaments, paintings and silverware were stolen during the break-in at an address in the Mapperley Park area of Nottingham during the early hours of 20 May 2023.

Detectives investigating a fight in the street have charged a fourth suspect with violent disorder. Officers were called to Foxhall Road, Forest Fields, Nottingham, at 7.25pm on Tuesday 16 May after reports a group of young men were fighting with knives.

A burglar has been convicted following a series of break-ins impacting residents in the Stapleford and Trowell areas. Kieran Ferris, aged 28, of Rockford Court, Stapleford, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (25 May 2023) where he pleaded guilty to two charges of burglary and a further count of handling stolen goods.

A dangerous driver who crashed a stolen car during a police pursuit has been jailed. Louis Denham, aged 26, led police on a lengthy pursuit after stealing the car from Radcliffe-on-Trent in the early hours of 10 April this year.

Car spot leads to arrests of burglary suspects
Two suspects were snared after specialist road crime team officers spotted a car believed to be linked to recent burglaries. Officers stopped the car in Slaughter House Lane, Newark, shortly after 8pm on Tuesday (9 May 2023). Two occupants were arrested and cloned number plates were found when the vehicle was searched.

A sex attacker who was caught on CCTV assaulting a woman in a hotel corridor has been jailed. Stefanita Mosescu, aged 42, had been on a night out in Nottingham city centre before following the victim back to a hotel in Fletcher Gate in the early hours of 3 November last year.

Burglar jailed after being caught on camera and leaving fingerprints at scene
A smash-and-grab burglar who broke into a restaurant and stole cash and alcohol has been jailed after police pinned him to the crime from fingerprints left at the scene and from CCTV footage. Jonathan Blundell smashed a window to gain entry to Bella Vita, in Main Street, Ollerton. Cash was taken from a till and tips jar and bottles of spirits were also taken.
Wanted man arrested after failing to dupe police
A wanted man failed to outrun police officers who spotted him whilst patrolling the streets. Response officers recognised Aaron Lancaster as they passed him in a police car in Main Street, Bulwell, on Saturday (6 May 2023). The 32-year-old’s image was circulated to police colleagues after he failed to appear in court over drug offences.

Persistent shoplifter handed strict banning order
A prolific shoplifter and aggressive beggar has been banned from entering or loitering near a number of shops and businesses in Clifton. Leigham Myers admitted 16 shop thefts and six counts of begging when he appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court in January and was sentenced to 16 weeks’ jail suspended for 12 months.
Prolific thief put behind bars
A persistent thief who targeted shops and parked vehicles during a six-week crime spree has been jailed. Stuart Askey, aged 39, walked into supermarkets and other stores in Clifton and The Meadows to swipe items from the shelves. Ring doorbell footage also captured him opening the door of a van parked outside a home in Hockerwood, Clifton, on 9 April.
