Safer Streets clampdown on nuisance car cruisers
Car cruisers have been warned they could be prosecuted if they attend gatherings at a retail park after the installation of a new CCTV camera. The high-tech camera, capable to 360-degree viewing, has been put up at the entrance to the site, near the new Sainsburys, off Colwick Loop Road, following funding from the Safer Streets project.
Appeal after dog-on-dog attack in park
Police are seeking the public’s help after a dog was attacked by another dog. Officers are investigating the circumstances and want to trace the owner of the offending dog, believed to be a Weimaraner, which wasn’t on a lead and bit the other dog, a Hungarian Vizsla, on her side leaving her needing three stitches.
Duo arrested following string of shop thefts
A targeted police operation has led to the arrest of two shoplifting suspects. Attempts were made to arrest a man and a woman on Thursday morning (2 March) after they were linked to six separate shop thefts.
Operation Reacher team snare suspect drug dealer
Cops swooped in and arrested a teenager accused of dealing cannabis. The 16-year-old suspect was stopped and detained by police – 24 hours after a drugs haul was discovered in a house. A shopping bag packed full of dried cannabis was found during a planned raid in Coningswath Road, Carlton, following reports of drug activity.
Knives, nunchucks and drugs seized from house
A set of weapons and a big bag full of cannabis have all been seized from inside a house. Cops discovered the blades and drugs while carrying out a planned raid in the Carlton area. Officers from the Gedling Operation Reacher team led the warrant in Coningswath Road, at around 8am on Tuesday (28 February).
Cops send warning to nuisance bikers
An inspector has condemned the “ridiculous” actions of nuisance bikers operating in his area. The Gedling neighbourhood policing team has seen an increase in reports of people riding motorbikes dangerously recently.
